All Hail the Heavenly Halo Braid!!!

Rachel McAdams Halo Braid Halo braid catwalk Jessica Alba halo braid Halo Braid Olsen

If you fancy an instant update to your everyday look that will only take minutes and look trendy and stylish, without too much effort, then halo braids are the perfect hair makeover.

All you need is a few kirby grips and 5-10 minutes. To start the look, simply start a plait from behind the ear and work your way around the temples, taking hair from the face so the braid literally frames your face. It should go right round the top of your head, around the forehead.

When you get to the top of the head moving over to the other side, then simply plait in a normal way, without taking hair and clip the end of the plait where it ends. It can then be hidden with the other braid, which is done by repeating these steps starting a braid from the other ear and wrapping it over the other plait so that the end is hidden from view.

When the other plait is finished, pin it behind the first plait so you cannot see the ends and are left with a row of halo braids. It should look slightly undone, as this is the celeb way of doing it, rather than a super tight Heidi-style look!!! And there you have it, you can style the rest of your hair in waves as we have done, a messy side plait or a bun for an instant style makeover. Gorgeous!

Sienna Shows How Waves Have Triumphed in the Noughties

Sienna Miller appears to sum up the transition wavy hairstyles have made over the last few years. Her silky golden locks are constantly perfectly glossy and sleek, seemingly without a hair out of place. However, her style changes subtly with time, whether it’s in colour, length or the shape of the waves.

When she first appeared on the scene, she was a Boho goddess with mermaid style long, golden waves and a shiny, shaggy fringe. Her look was ultra feminine, girly and young.

Next came her slightly shorter, medium length look based on her obvious style crush, Kate Moss. The fringe was grown out into a sexier, more adult look that was more well groomed and fashionable for the rising star and role as Jude Law’s established arm candy.

When she outgrew Jude, she also seemed to outgrow her British cool, slightly more unkempt style, opting instead for a slightly more Hollywood look with a cooler blonde colour and shorter, more glamourous look that oozed old Hollywood combined with noughties Boho.

Once again however, Sienna’s style has taken another turn and her waves have become more textured, with a look that harps back to her earlier days with Jude – perhaps due to their recent reunion – but with a slightly more edge and versatility due to her hair education to date.

However, with a new toyboy romance in her life, who knows which way her hairstyle will go next! We can’t wait to see and we know we’ll all be clamouring for a taste of her latest look so that we can recreate this effortlessly glamourous hair idol!
